For the 25th entry in the long-running Bedroom Compost series, we have a special set of three Axs albums, packed to the brim with unreleased works from his personal archives. The first volume, Rosewood Secrets, is a lively collection of 9 tracks that bounce and subside with a monochromatic clarity. Familiar elements of dub and minimal techno are frequent, and Axs keeps things moving from track to track, making Rosewood a varied and fresh listen. Renewed by a concise remastering job (courtesy of The Analog Botanist) and augmented with the addition of two new tracks (Restored Picture A and B - available on CD only) which themselves are reconfigurations of old session materials, Rosewood Secrets reveals only the basic elements needed to fully exhibit the talent behind the Axs name. The second and third volumes of the "secrets" collection will be issued in November and December, so keep an eye out for those too.
