about

One of the most interesting demos to arrive in the Recycled Plastics post office box is this 47 minute romp through bouncy techno and Rephlexian electronics from one Edith Keeler - no return address, no additional information beyond a typewritten message asking RP to release it, and for any money made with the album to help furnish future RP releases. As it happens, Harness hits all the right spots for something in the RP catalog - massive club-friendly basslines and kicks, wobbly melodies, space cadet pads and swirling hi-hats with lots of technical edits everywhere. We have no idea what kind of hardware or software was employed to make these tracks, and frankly, we don't care. When the music is this satisfying, it could be coming out of a kazoo and we'd never blink an eye. Perhaps this is what Edith Keeler (whoever she or he really is) is trying to accomplish with this album - a focus on the music alone, with zero pretext and nothing else to prop it up besides what comes out of the speakers. Either way, we hope Edith continues to ping our PO box in the future.
